Mesotherapy

What is mesotherapy?
Mesotherapy is a therapeutic procedure in which low concentrations of vitamins, hyaluronic acid, antioxidants and amino acids are micro-injected into the skin, directly at the place where one wants to achieve the effects of these substances. ‘meso’, Greek for ‘middle’, also is an expression for a special layer of our skin.
Mesotherapy was developed decades ago in France to ameliorate pain in large areas. Later it was used in aesthetic medicine, where it is now an important tool in our armoury to combat premature aging of the skin. It can also be combined with other treatments such as peelings, microdermabrasion, botulinum toxin and fillers.
It enhances the skin’s appearance and boosts texture, glow and firmness. It is also a great way to moisturise the skin from within.

What effects does mesotherapy have?
Mesotherapy will enhance:

  • Skin structure and texture
  • Boost tired-looking skin
  • elasticity, skin tone
  • Complexion

Mesotherapy is a treatment that will enhance the overall look of your skin. It is typically recommended for people between the age of 30 and 50. Sometimes the overall effect of mesotherapy is called ‘mesolift’, since the enhanced skin tone will also counteract fine wrinkling.

Which areas are amenable to mesotherapy?
Since mesotherapy is a subtle procedure, it can be carried out almost on all parts of our skin to improve texture and tone. It is often performed on the face, neck, hands and décolleté. Since it is also a treatment against cellulite, the thighs and buttocks can also be treated.

Which active components are used in mesotherapy?
Vitamins, amino acids, antioxidants and non-cross-linked hyaluronic acids are typical substances used in mesotherapy. They aim to stimulate the metabolism of cells, thus initiating tissue revitalisation and improving your overall complexion.

Treatment plan
To achieve optimum results, a basic set of 3 – 6 treatments is recommended. The treatment intervals are 2 – 4 weeks. After the basic treatment, brush-up treatments are recommended at 4 – 6 month intervals to maintain the result and further improve it.

Mesotherapy: the treatment itself
The active components are micro-injected into the skin, using an electrically-driven micro-injector of the newest generation. This will take place with or without prior numbing of the skin with a cream.
The typical duration of the treatment sessions depends on the area to be treated, and usually lasts 20 – 45 minutes.

Possible side-effects
There will be redness involved that fades within hours; sometimes some swelling or pin-point bleeding may occur.
